West Indies cruise to second win

West Indies cruised to an emphatic seven wicket win over defending champions Sri Lanka in their second Super 10, Group 1 match of the World Twenty20 last Sunday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

Samuel Badree, the West Indies leg spinner, laid the foundation for a comfortable victory after the Windies elected to field.

Badree picked up three wickets for only 12 runs from his four overs as Sri Lanka were restricted to 122 for nine wickets in their 20 overs with allrounder Thisara Perera topscoring with 40. Dwayne Bravo also chipped in with two wickets for 20 runs in his four fours.

West Indies in reply scored 127 for three wickets in 18.2 overs with Andre Fletcher who opened the innings in place of the injured Chris Gayle and smashed an unbeaten 84 runs off 64 balls to earn him the Man-of-the-Match.

West Indies take on South Africa tomorrow (March 25) at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur.
