TCCF celebrates 14th anniversary

By Gerald V. Paul

The Caribbean Children’s Foundation (TCCF), in partnership with various supporters and community partners, will host the 14th annual Angel Gala at Elite Banquet Hall, 1850 Albion Rd., Rexdale, on Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m.

The foundation assists critically ill Caribbean children, with more than 67 kids assisted so far, having raised and paid out more than $1.3 million.

Among those supporters will be the Brij Team, at Remax West Realty Inc., which earlier this year shared a special moment with representatives of the Herbie Fund as a cheque for $50,000 was presented to the fund. The foundation collaborates with the Herbie Fund in that each medical case with charges in excess of $25,000 is covered by the fund.

“Founded in 2000, TCCF’s purpose is to assist poor children from the Caribbean, suffering from life-threatening ailments for which no treatment may be readily available in their home country,” said Jay Brijpaul, president of TCCF.

He says the gala will be a time to mix and mingle, network and experience an island-hopping buffet.

Elvis will enter the building as Guyana born Travis Persaud, an Elvis Presley tribute artist, will take you down memory lane. And to cap off a wonderful evening, a guest will take home a Grace Kennedy food basket as a door prize.

In that community workshop Brijpaul advises on:

• Planning;

• Know the rules, know the fine print;

• Be mindful of key areas to focus on and challenges to avoid.

• Realities in investing in real estate – what books won’t tell you;
