As Canadians enjoy festivals associated with the rich cultural mosaic that represents this country, the French speaking island of Martinique will be bringing its culinary delights to Quebec during September 7-22 at the 6^th annual culinary festival in Montreal.

The popular Martinique Gourmande Festival, the most expected annual culinary rendezvous between Martinique and Québec is back in restaurants and bars of the Greater Montréal area.

Québécois will be able to discover or rediscover the cuisine of the Island of Flowers, a subtle but powerful blend of French, African, Indian and Caribbean influences.

Those willing to take the experience further will be able to enter the Martinique Gourmande sweepstakes for a chance to win a gourmet trip for two to Martinique.

The Martinique Tourism Authority in Canada launched the festival in 2008.

Chef Guy Ferdinand, a.k.a Chef Hot Pants, known worldwide for his uncommon outfits, but most of all for his authentic cuisine based on fresh local products, is back by popular demand.

“It is an honour and a great pleasure to be back to celebrate the gastronomy and art de vivre of Martinique with our friends from Québec. We share this love of good food and a strong sense of friendliness.
