Lallan Roopnarine, former owner of Mississauga Travel, was born in Penal in South Trinidad in 1952 and died after a short fight with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday September 17 2019 in Mississauga.

Lallan came to Canada in 1975 where he worked in the travel industry until he opened his very popular Mississauga Travel in 1990, operating at the corner of Dundas and Hurontario in the heart of Mississauga; he opened a second branch in Scarborough at Kennedy and Eglinton Ave.
Mississauga was quite popular with Trinidad and Tobago residents in Toronto; sometimes he would singlehandedly sell out complete BWIA flights in the old days.
Lallan leaves to mourn his wife of 46 years Chandra Roopnarine, son, Anil, daughter Rhea; grandchildren Kahlea, Aminah, Jahkim, Devi and Diya; daughter-in law Marsha, and son-in-law Vinit.
Lallan was active in the community as a sponsor of carnival bands as well supporting calypso record production.
The funeral will take place on Friday 20, 2019 at Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres, located at 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, ON. The Visitation will be at the same location from 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM.
This will be followed by a private family-witnessing cremation at Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, ON.
