Henry Walter Goodridge aka “The King”, was born on the 28 March 1942 in Barataria Trinidad and Tobago. He migrated to Canada in 1969.  Goodridge died on the 3rd of September 2022 at Lakeridge Health Network, Ajax, Ontario.

He suffered was hospitalized for five years before his death.

Goodridge retired after working 27 years for General Tires as a mill operator. 

He enjoyed his sports; the basketball Raptors, baseball’s Blue Jays, wrestling, cricket were main features on his TV screen. He was a fine drafts/checkers player, enjoyed his travels, and was an avid cook. He was a “pro” at adapting new recipes to his Caribbean palette.

Over the years he worked with many different mas bands in the local carnival.

Henry Walter Goodridge was the husband of Jacqueline Goodridge; the child of Daniel Goodridge and Udora Roberts; the father of Sharon, Gary, Shirma, Susie, Lisa, Jeneil (Derron), Amira (Yemi), Akil, Amila and Akim; grandfather of Jenesia, Titilayo, Temitayo, Zion, Janiya, jan, Tolulope, Zayn and Ja’Kaiya.

Brother of Winston, Dora, Patrick, Henrietta, Behulah, Fenrick, Daniel, Nick, Judith, Jennifer and Beulah.

He was interred last Monday, September 12th , at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby, Ontario.
