
CIBC has announced its commitment to support hurricane relief efforts in Caribbean islands affected by Hurricane Beryl, through its Caribbean subsidiary, CIBC Caribbean. The company will make an initial donation of $100,000 via CIBC Caribbean’s ComTrust Foundation to aid in the recovery efforts.
Mark St. Hill, Chief Executive Officer of CIBC Caribbean and Chair of the ComTrust Foundation, emphasized the urgent need for assistance in communities devastated by Hurricane Beryl. He stated, “The impact of Hurricane Beryl has been catastrophic for many communities, leaving widespread destruction and thousands in desperate need of help. We stand in solidarity with our team members and the affected Caribbean communities during this challenging time. Our clients’ support and immediate recovery efforts are crucial.”
In addition to the initial donation, CIBC Caribbean’s ComTrust Foundation will allocate further funds to support restoration initiatives in St. Vincent, Grenada and the Grenadines, and Jamaica.
Mr. St. Hill also announced that CIBC Caribbean will provide special banking assistance to clients affected by the hurricane, ensuring they receive support in their recovery efforts.
To augment relief efforts, donations can be made to the CIBC Foundation Hurricane Beryl Relief Fund. The funds collected will be utilized to provide immediate relief, aid in recovery efforts, and strengthen resilience and preparedness for future natural disasters.
