Join the online discussion

On Thursday, February 17, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, The Labour Community Services in collaboration with the Toronto Community Benefits Network is inviting you to join in an online discussion on confronting anti-Black racism beyond occasional acts and trends. Featuring conversations from Black leaders within the labour movement and our communities, you will have an opportunity to participate in the discussion and learn about how we can all continue to be effective activists.
Ginelle Skerritt, CEO of York Region Children’s Aid Society will moderate the discussion featuring highly experienced speakers from various sectors. The talk will centre on what Black History Month means to them, how they’ve confronted anti-Black racism through their communities and workplaces, and how we can all continue to be more effective activists.
The panel will include Rosemarie Powell Executive Director, Toronto Community Benefits Network; Andria Babbington, President, Toronto & York Region Labour Council ; Abdi Hagi Yusuf, Labour Community Services; Gary Pieters Commissioner, Ontario Human Rights Commission; Angela Robertson, Executive Director, Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre; and Hugh Reynolds of Principal, Africentric Alternative School, Toronto District School Board.
