Chanders scores 26th test century

Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the 38-year-old veteran left-hander playing in his 145 Tests carved out his second Test double century, 203 not out and now draw level with the legendary Sir Garfield Sobers in scoring his 26th Test century.

Shiv is also now behind the world record holder Brian Lara on the West Indies all-time list of century makers. Lara has 34 to his name.
Windies having won the toss elected to bat first, scored 527 for 4 declared on the second day of the first Test against Bangladesh which started in Mirpur last Tuesday, November 13th.

Chanderpaul was undefeated on 203 and opener Kieran Powell slammed his second Test century 117 to share in a fourth-wicket partenership of 125 with Chandrapaul.

Vice-captain Denesh Ramdin after joining Chandrapaul recorded his third century 126 not out and shared in a fifth- wicket partnership of 296 runs.

Bangladesh in reply were 164 for 3 with Tamim Iqbal scoring 72. Ravi Rampaul picked up 2 for 49. The match continues.
