The community of Oshawa will come together for a cause that goes beyond just a summer party. The Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) Ex-Army Alumni is set to host its 4th annual T&T Army All-Inclusive Fete at Club Carib of Oshawa on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. This year’s event, with its signature camouflage theme, is more than just a festive gathering—it’s a heartfelt initiative aimed at raising crucial funds to support retired T&T veterans.

The T&T Ex-Army Alumni, an organization comprising retired Trinidad and Tobago Army officers now residing in Ontario, has a proven track record of hosting well-attended events that are not only fun but also deeply impactful. Endorsed by government officials and local councillors, the Alumni has successfully bridged the gap for veterans who face a range of challenges post-service.

The reality for many veterans is often stark—mobility constraints, transportation issues, isolation, mental health concerns, and the need for occupational therapy are just a few of the challenges they encounter. The Alumni recognizes these issues and has made it their mission to improve the quality of life for these brave men and women. While not all problems can be completely resolved, the funds raised through events like the All-Inclusive Fete play a pivotal role in addressing these challenges and providing essential support.

“90% of the funds raised at this event will go directly toward assisting our veterans,” said a representative of the T&T Ex-Army Alumni. “We are committed to ensuring that our retired servicemen and women, many of whom now live in Canada, receive the care and support they deserve.”
