Working Artist Caribbean Niagara Falls Concert Series 

Free and so are the Fireworks at the end of the stage show

Everyone loves a free show, especially when the entertainment is Carnival inspired. Niagara Falls is experiencing a huge increase in visitors since the end of Covid restrictions, and thanks to a new outdoor concert series adjacent to the Falls, you can jump as the water falls down almost beside you!

“The Working Artist Caribbean Niagara Falls Concert Series is set in the picturesque Oakes Garden Theatre located at the foot of Clifton Hills directly across from the falls,” Yvette Martin, the series producer and creator. “The concert series is what we like to call ‘music in park’. It is a platform that will showcase professional and emerging Caribbean musicians accompanied by Mas models from the Costume Creators Mas Band for four dates during the summer.”

The series started last Thursday night. There are three more shows planned this summer (July 14, August 18 and 25th.) Showtime is 8pm to 10pm immediately followed by the nightly fireworks over the Falls. Everyone sits on the grass in front of the open stage, blankets to sit on are recommended.

“At our first show June 30, I noticed a huge uptick in the number of Caribbean peoples taking since the last time I worked on a series like this before Covid,” said Martin. “We have the go-

ahead to promote Caribana style artists courtesy of the Park.”

Martin is booking Canadian Reggae and Soca performers to entertain the visiting tourists. At the first show, three time Juno Award singer Steele and Scarborough’s Trini-Canadian Soca master Jaxx.

The next show is Thursday July 14^th and singer Mel Dube, Jaxx, DJ ICON and Jamaican Canadian singer Welder have already been booked along with the Mas costume models.

Martin will be announcing the August line-up soon. In the meantime she is seeking more partnerships and sponsors to continue to build  and create platforms for Caribbean Arts and Culture.

The Concert series is designed to give Caribbean artists the opportunity to be seen by a wider audience in a FREE setting.

The concert series is listed to support the journey of Caribbean artists and their artistic expressions.
