Right Reverend Claude Berkley, bishop of Trinidad and Tobago, spoke at the Church of the Nativity, Malvern, last Wednesday and shared his thoughts on the work of the church in that country’s diocese.
Berkley, who was guest speaker for the 2015 Arthur Brown and Basil Tonks Dinner at the Church of the Ascension, was also guest speaker at the Church of St. Andrew, Scarborough, and guest preacher at the Cathedral Church of St. James.
Berkley said the church must be “for the greater good and what is best for our nation and especially for those groups that are marginalized because they need somebody to be championing their cause.”
This Saturday, the public is invited to experience a music program at the Church of the Nativity featuring first soprano Rose Heavens-Worrell and friends along with Toronto West Seventh-Day Adventist Majestic and The Nativity Steel Angels at 7 p.m. The church is at 10 Sewells Rd.
Master of ceremonies will be Toronto Star columnist Royson James.
