Mary Ng, Canada’s Minister  of International Trade, will join Caribbean government ministers and business leaders in a panel discussion at BIDEM 2020, the  International Caribbean Diaspora Entrepreneurs’ Conference and Trade Show to be held in Toronto October 13-15.

The  panel discussion on “bridging diasporic and home markets” is scheduled for October 14, starting at 1 p.m.

Among the panelists will be Kerrie Symmonds, Barbados’s Minister of Energy, Entrepreneurship, Small Business and Commerce and Audley Shaw, Jamaica’s  Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce.

Theme of  this year’s  event: ” Connecting the Roots, Building Networks Together for Profit and Purpose”

Organizers of  BIDEM 2020 are The Community of Practice for Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs , Magate Wildhorse Ltd (Toronto) and  Magate Wildhorse (New York)

BIDEM 2020 aims to bring 2000 delegates, exhibitors and trade show attendees together virtually in Toronto.

A news release from the organizers of the conference notes that accelerating the development of Caribbean diaspora and domestic- Caribbean entrepreneurship, opportunities and challenges, climate risk, investments. technology and high value manufacturing are also among the key topics to be discussed.
